Kindly read the following hotel policy which applies to all guests who have made bookings with Kudhi Boli Beach House
By Confirming your booking, you are agreeing to the Hotel Policy stated below and understand that intentional defiance and continuous actions contravening the policy despite multiple warnings from host, will result in the cancellation of booking and expelling of the guests from the property.
- Standard Check-in Time is 1400hrs, where early Check-in is complementary depending on room availability
- Standard Check-out Time is 1200hrs, where complementary late-Check-out can be extended until 1800hrs depending on room availability.
- Late Check-out after 1800hrs will incur 100% of the Room Rate
- Cancellations 72 hours before arrival date shall be exempted of cancellation charges whereas spontaneous natural events (bad weather, flight delays etc) will be taken into consideration. Please read cancellation policy below.
- Room Rate DOES NOT include Speedboat Transfer charges. Hotel will book speedboat for the Guest and share booking information. Guests are required to pay the speedboat directly in Cash (USD 25 per pax)
- No Pets are allowed in the Guest House including stray cats in the island
- Guests should dress appropriately on the island likewise wearing bikini/speedos and non-modest attire (revealing attire) in the township of the island or the streets of Thulusdhoo will not be permitted. Designated tourist beaches are available with their designated borders. Learn more
- Guests who are not registered at check-in will not be permitted to utilize the facilities of the hotel unless or otherwise permitted by the host
- Guests are required to inform Guest House prior to leaving the island for any day trips, excursions, snorkeling on the house reef to ensure safety and security of guests
- Guests are required to undergo verbal briefing of these policies at Check-in and should provide any personal requirements, adjustments for allergies/requirements for food & beverage or queries at check-in
- Guests are required to follow the rules and regulations of the island issued by the Local Government of the Island and the Hotel, whereas continued defiance of these regulations and actions that contravenes these policies after multiple warnings allows the hotel to cancel the booking with no refunds in addition to expelling guests from the island.
- All bookings are subject to the standard check-in time (14:00hrs) and standard check-out time (12:00hrs) whereas flexible check-out times can be accommodated based on availability.
- Direct Bookings (bookings made directly to the Hotel excluding Online Travel Agencies such as Booking-com) via Website, Referral, Agent, Whatsapp or Social media will be provided with a Stamped Confirmation Voucher from Kudhi Boli Beach House on confirmation
- For Direct Bookings, guests are required to provide passport information page photos of all guests in the party including infants, in addition to flight information
- Rooms can only be blocked for 48 hours during the booking process until confirmation
- Number of pax is defined as number of people, therefore at booking guests are required to inform the number of children including their ages as it is required for accommodation service providers to declare to the government tax authorities
- Guests aged 4 years and younger are exempted of all charges except Green Tax issued by the Government of Maldives

- Speedboat transfer to and from Thulusdhoo will be booked and arranged by the Hotel whereas payments to speedboat transfers must be made via Cash in United States Dollar (USD), Maldivian Rufiyaa (MVR) or Euros (EUR)
- Card payments can be collected via the Hotel for speedboat transfers however all card payments to third parties will incur additional T-GST (16%) and bank charges of (4%)
- Due to the ongoing genocide taking place in Israel & Palestine, Thulusdhoo island and Kudhi Boli Beach House, executes right to refuse service to tourists holding Israeli passport. Therefore any guests carrying an Israeli passport will be expelled from the property.
- Guests will be provided with Room Rate issued in United States Dollars (USD) at the exchange rate (USD = 15.42 Maldivian Rufiyaa MVR) whereas Room Rate includes Mandatory Service Charge, Tourism Goods and Service Tax (TGST) and Green Tax (GT)
- Service Charge (10%) is incurred to the base rate, whereas TGST 16% will be incurred to the compound Service Charge inclusive Base Rate. In addition to these taxes, each passport will be taxed USD 3 per passport per night under Green Tax.
- Note that Maldives government has recently issued change in fiscal (tax) policy therefore any changes in tax policies will change the prices of already confirmed bookings
- Any card payments taken from the Hotel for any third parties who do not accept card payments (Speedboat, Excursions, Tours, Cafe’s) will incur 20% to the total transaction which will be 16% for TGST and 4% for Bank Charges. Therefore carrying cash is very important.
- Guest House accepts payments in Cash United States Dollars (USD Bills 2006 series onwards), Euros (EUR) and Maldivian Rufiyaa (MVR Bills 2015 series onwards), Card payments via POS Machine, Card Payments via online payment link and Wire Transfer
- All electronic payments will incur a Bank Charge of 4% of any amount transacted
- Guests are required to complete all pending payments to the hotel or any third parties, 12 hours prior to check-out
- Speedboat transfers should be paid via Cash (USD/MVR/EUR) directly to the boat. Scheduled speedboat transfers are USD 25 per person (including Children 4 Years +) whereas luggage and board bags will not be charged.
- Bookings can be cancelled 72 hours prior to check-in time booked whereas bookings can be adjusted free-of-charge based on availability in cases of unexpected natural events.
- Unexpected natural events are defined as travel restrictions due to bad weather issued by Maldives Meteorology Centre, natural disasters (Tsunami, Tropical Storms, Earthquakes)
- Accidents or unexpected events out of guest control such as flight delays, accidents, medical emergencies will be considered by the Guest House as a natural disaster where changes into the booking will be accommodated based on availability
- You are required to follow the instructions and briefings provided by the Guest House, Boat Crew and Local Guides to which if the rules are not followed the trip can get cancelled with no refund.
- You are required to declare their underlying health conditions (esp. cardiac history), swimming ability and in any case if you are not confident to swim, you are required to carry and wear a lifejacket provided by the tour operator.
- Wearing heavy sunscreen (min. SPF-30) is very important for guests with low-melanin as you will be exposed to direct sunlight with no shade in addition to exposure to sea salt as you may face serious UV burns for your skin.
- You are never allowed to go snorkeling alone
- You are not allowed to touch, grab or collect any corals, shells and any or every marine specie in the ocean. The existence of Maldives, the ecosystem and the biodiversity and the centuries old heritage entirely depends on your responsibility in the ocean
- Dumping and littering in the ocean is illegal, however biodegradable waste is exempted
- Trips will be cancelled if the currents are too strong, which is not safe or suitable for travel or swimming
- Marine animals are located in their natural habitats in the ocean, therefore we can never give a 100% guarantee that the animals you seek would be there at the exact point during that time (it is not a zoo). Likewise, in a case where after hours of searching the guides were not able to find the animals, you can still be charged for the fuel of the boat.
- If you cause any damage to any gear provided by the tour operator it can be chargeable.
- You are required to learn the common sign language to “Help”, “OK” and direction signs prior to jumping in the water
- You are not allowed to jump of the boat when the engine is running
- You are always advised to wear bright colored swim suits or rash-guards (basically any color other than blue or white) for visibility.
- Alcohol and any form of recreational drugs especially (THC, CBD) is prohibited for use, storage or carrying in any local island of the Maldives
- E-cigarettes, vaping and other electronic tobacco products and devices have been prohibited for use, import, sell or carry in the Maldives as of November 2024
- Smoking is not allowed within 100ft of schools, healthcare centres, fuel supply trucks or any motorized boats. Smoking is also not allowed whilst operating any vehicles and vessels
- Anyone driving a motorized vehicle/vessel is required to carry a valid driver’s license issued by Ministry of Transportation & Civil Aviation
- You are not required to carry any license to drive bicycles on the island however, you are required to carry a torch after 18:00 (Dusk) until 05:00 (Dawn).
- All vehicles must be driven on the left side of two way streets and driven slowly at every junction to avoid collision whereas you are required to drive slow between 16:00 – 18:00, near schools and hotels due to excessive children on the streets
- Guests should dress appropriately on the island likewise wearing bikini/speedos and non-modest attire (revealing attire) in the township of the island or the streets of Thulusdhoo will not be permitted. Designated tourist beaches are available with their designated borders. Learn more
- Loud music, partying, loitering on the streets or within hotels which disturb the peace of the island during midnight 00:00 – 05:00 is prohibited whereas all loud music and loitering should be stopped for prayer calls at any time.
- Loitering and dressing inappropriately (including not wearing a shirt for men) near mosques especially during prayer time is now allowed and highly disrespectful for worshippers at the mosque.
- Non-muslims are not allowed to enter the mosques if or unless with a local guide for religious educational purposes
- Touching, stealing, borrowing or any form of disturbance/damage to the ecosystem of Thulusdhoo is strictly prohibited including but not limited to Coconut Palms, Trees, Wild animals (cats, and birds), Marine Wild Life (Corals, Crustaceans, Reptiles, Mammals, Fishes etc). Fishing unprotected reef fish or oceanic fish via pole and line is allowed. Protected species include (Big eyed Tuna, Sharks, Turtles, Rays, Mammals, Turtles, Groupers, Parrotfish, Napolean Fish, Clownfish, Guitarfish).
- Coconut palms are private property including its coconuts therefore plucking coconuts, its fronds and climbing them without the permission of owner is not allowed
- All services will be closed on the island during Friday Prayer time (12:00 – 14:00) in addition to reducing noise level, parties and halting activities during this time, which otherwise can be considered disrespectful.
- Shops will be closed latest by 2300hrs (and for 30 minutes after every prayer call) and restaurants will take their last orders at 23:30 (closing at 00:00)
- All non-motorized activities are not allowed on the Open Ocean Channels, Harbors & Jetty where legal action can be taken to the hotel, agent, tourist and every party involved for life endangerment
- Ramadan is the 9th month of the Islamic Calendar, which is based on the Lunar System with a 12-month cycle, approximately 10-days less than the Gregorian calendar, leading to variations of Ramadan period every year. Ramadan is one of the holiest months, where Muslims will abstain from eating, drinking, smoking, intimacy from dawn to dusk. Muslims will continue with their normal day-to-day activities, however will allocate more time and effort into religious activities such as reciting the Qur’an, frequenting the mosque for prayers, doing charitable work and generally doing good deeds. In Islamic religion the purpose of mandatory fasting in Ramadan, is to feel the struggles of the poor and to give back to the community, bringing the entire Muslim community together for one month, as a reminder of a unity.
- During daylight hours in Ramadan, eating, drinking, smoking in all public areas is prohibited
- Everyone should be modestly dressed in public areas
- Religious practices should be respected; this includes, avoiding loud music or noise during prayer times and near mosques
- Excursions and other activities may not be possible after 1700hrs as it is close to breakfast time
- Designated Bikini Beach will still be open for tourists and some restaurants will be open during day-time for tourists
- Services and regular timings will change for each Ramadan, please ensure that you are aware of the changes instigated by the island, third-parties and the hotel.
