Unlike many other countries, the Maldives hosts over 1,190 islands of which 200 are considered local inhabited islands. Kudhi Boli Beach House is located in one of these islands situated in the North Male’ Atoll region, approximately 28 kilometers from the capital city Male’. There is no land connection between most islands and the capital city, as Maldives is known for its isolated local island chains and therefore the only way to get to local islands is by speedboat, ferry boat or seaplane.
SCHEDULED SPEEDBOAT TRANSFER
There are three speedboat transfer operators travelling between Male’ / Airport and Thulusdhoo island every day. It is more ideal to choose this option as its faster, more reliable and easier to travel with luggage especially surf boards. These 20-30 minute scheduled speedboat transfers are designed and trained to accommodate tourists and are very punctual to ensure you reach your flights on time.
It is also important to note, if you are booking last-minute to your stay in Thulusdhoo, you may not even get seats for speedboat so it is highly recommended to book early and keep your hotel informed about your flight timings.
Scheduled Speedboat Transfer is USD 25 per person (EUR 25 / MVR 385).
Children under 4 years old will not be charged and can sit on the lap of the parents
You are required to pay CASH directly to the boat in USD, EUR or MVR

PROVINCE FERRY

A cheaper option to visit Thulusdhoo is via the MTCC Province Ferry (also known as the Public Ferry). This slow traditional ferry boat travels one round across four islands throughout the day. Although it is cheaper, it is highly unreliable, with no GPS tracking, frequent cancellations and takes over 2 hours to get from Male’ City to Thulusdhoo.
Once you arrive at the airport you will have to take a ticket to Male’ City from the Airport Public Ferry which will cost you approximately USD 3 reaching Male’ City in 5 minutes. Once you have reached the Ferry Terminal in Male’, you will be required to go to the counter and take a ticket for the “THULUSDHOO FERRY” which will cost you approximately USD 3

This ferry only applies to guests arriving to the Maldives / Airport in the morning as the ferry leaves the city at 14:30 (02:30PM) only.
Although, this ferry is a great option if you are travelling to Thulusdhoo from nearby islands, Himmafushi, Huraa or Dhiffushi.

PRIVATE HIRE
If you miss the speedboat, or if the schedule does not fit your timings with regard to reaching your flights on time, you have the option of taking a private hire. This means you are chartering a speedboat just for your departure which can be costly.
Private Hire between Airport & Thulusdhoo can cost between USD 180 – USD 220 depending on the number of people, the weather and the time. You may not get a rate below the above rate given any circumstance, as fuel prices in the Maldives are very high and its the bare minimum market price practiced in Thulusdhoo.
Reasons why price may exceed beyond USD 200 for private hire:
- Rough seas or during weather alerts (speedboats will not travel in Yellow Alert unless on emergency)
- Total Group exceeds 6 Adults
- Traveling after sun-down (18:00hrs) or before sun-rise (06:00hrs)
Talk to your host or Press the button below for a direct link to communicate with a private hire:
